About the event
Kuli Kohli is poet laureate of Wolverhampton, 2022-25, runs the Punjabi Women’s Writers’ Group and co-hosts the live literature show ‘Virtual Voices’ for Offa’s Press. She is also an enthusiastic member of the RSPB. She has battled with mild cerebral palsy and achieved a great deal in her life as council worker, mother and writer. Her appearances on BBC’s ‘Sunday Morning Live’ and ‘Poetry, Please!’ drew national attention. Her Patchwork and A Wonder Woman are both published by Offa’s Press. She was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Wolverhampton in 2022 and in March 2024 a photograph of her, by Anand Chhabra, was acquired by the National Portrait Gallery. In February 2025 she was selected to be a Rebecca Swift Foundation Creative Associate for Wolverhampton, one of only 3 national posts.
